MINUTES OF THE LARIMER COUNTY BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT

(August 25, 2009)

 

 

            The regular meeting of the Larimer County Board of Adjustment was held in the County Board Hearing Room in the Larimer County Courthouse, Fort Collins, Colorado at 7:00 p.m., August 25, 2009 at which time the following business was transacted. 

 

Board Members Present:         Eric Berglund, Greg Christensen, Evelyn King, Peter Bohling,

                                                Alan Cram, and Jeff Schneider

 

Staff Present:                          Samantha Mott, Eric Tracy, William Ressue

 

Minutes:  Eric Berglund moved and Alan Cram seconded the Motion to approve the July 28, 2009 Minutes of the Larimer County Board of Adjustment as presented.  Board members Alan Cram, Eric Berglund, Peter Bohling, Greg Christensen, and Evelyn King voted in favor of the Motion.  The Minutes were unanimously approved.

 

Findings and Resolutions:  Peter Bohling moved and Alan Cram seconded the Motion to approve the Findings and Resolutions:  Blackford Setback Variance (#09-BOA0760) and Schneck Setback Variance (#09-BOA0761).  Board members Alan Cram, Eric Berglund, Peter Bohling, Greg Christensen and Evelyn King voted in favor of the Motion.

 

Applications:

 

File No:  #09-BOA0764  (Hobson Setback Variance)

Owner:             Kingsley Hobson and Sara Styer

Applicant: Kingsley Hobson and Sara Styer

Request: The Application of Kingsley Hobson and Sara Styer, requesting a variance was presented to the Board.  The Application requested a setback variance to allow a one-year time extension to comply with the original Hobson setback variance that allowed a detached garage to be located 10 feet from the front property line rather than the required minimum of 25 feet in the O-Open zone

 

Action:  Alan Cram moved and Peter Bohling seconded the Motion to approve the Application with conditions.  Board members Alan Cram, Eric Berglund, Peter Bohling, Greg Christensen, Evelyn King voted in favor of the Motion. The Application was approved with conditions.

Owner:  Larry and Stella Strope

Applicant:  Larry and Stella Strope

Request:  The Application of Larry and Stella Strope, requesting a variance was presented to the Board.  The Application requested a setback variance to allow a new garage and two existing portable storage buildings to be located 7 feet from the east property line rather than the required minimum of 25 feet in the R-Residential zone.

 

Action:  Alan Cram moved and Eric Bohling seconded the Motion to approve the Application with conditions.  Board members Alan Cram, Eric Berglund, Peter Bohling, Greg Christensen, and Evelyn King voted in favor of the Motion.  The Application was approved with conditions. 

 

File No: #09-BOA0753  (Levick Setback Variance)

Owner:  Jordan Levick

Applicant:  Jordan Levick

Request: The Application of Jordan Levick, requesting a variance was presented to the Board.  The Application requested a setback variance to allow a detached garage to be 45 feet from the centerline of County Road 52E rather than the required minimum of 70 feet and to be located 30 feet from the centerline of a stream rather than the required minimum of 100 feet in the O-Open zone.

 

Action:  Greg Christensen moved and Evelyn King seconded the Motion to approve the Application with conditions.  Board members Alan Cram, Eric Berglund, Peter Bohling, Greg Christensen, and Evelyn King voted in favor of the Motion.  The Application was approved with conditions. 

 

OTHER BUSINESS

 

Alan Cram moved and Peter Bohling seconded the motion that Eric Berglund be appointed chair of the Board of Adjustment for the following year.  The question was called and members Alan Cram, Eric Berglund, Peter Bohling, Greg Christensen, and Evelyn King voted in favor of the Motion.  The motion passed.
