What these data tell us:
With the exception of White (not Hispanic), the percentages of students from each racial/ethnic group were higher than those of teachers in the 2008-09 school year. It should be noted that Black students represented 1.7% of student enrollment, while Black teachers represented only 0.2% of all teachers in Larimer County (702 students to 5 teachers). Hispanic students were the next most overrepresented (63:1) followed by Asian or Pacific Islander (54:1) and American Indian (31:1).What this chart shows: Teachers by Race/Ethnicity and Gender, Larimer County School Districts, 2008-09

What these data tell us:
In 2008-09, Larimer County teachers were predominately White (not Hispanic) and female. The only teacher minority population with significant representation was Hispanic. In general, the female to male educator ratio was approximately three female teachers to one male.Only American Indian teachers reflected the overall proportions found in the general population of Larimer County. For example, American Indian teachers represented approximately 0.5% of the teachers in Larimer County, comparable to this group's 0.3% representation in the general population.
