2009 Important Election Dates

The full 2009 statewide elections calendar is available from the Colorado Secretary of State. In Larimer County, the November 3, 2009 Coordinated Election will be a mail ballot election.

July 24 Friday Last day for a political subdivision to notify the County Clerk in writing if it has taken formal action to participate in the November 3, 2009 Coordinated Election.
August 5 Wednesday Earliest day for candidates for the office of school district director to circulate a nomination petition.
August 28 Friday Last day for candidates for the office of school district director to file a nomination petition.
August 31 Monday Last day to file an affidavit of intent to run as a write-in candidate.
September 18 Friday Last day to file pro/con comments pertaining to local ballot issues with the designated election official in order to be included in the ballot issue notice.
October 5 Monday Last day to register to vote for the November 3, 2009 Coordinated Election.
October 13 Tuesday First day allowed by statute for the designated election official to send mail ballot packets to eligible voters.
October 16 Friday Last day allowed by statute for the designated election official to send mail ballot packets to eligible voters.
November 3 Tuesday COORDINATED ELECTION. 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. All ballots must be received by the County Clerk and Recorder no later than 7:00 p.m. Postmark dates do not count as received.
November 12 Thursday In the case of a discrepancy or missing signature, last day for elector who voted by mail to return form confirming that they did send a ballot to the County Clerk. In the case of a missing signature from a provisional ballot envelope, last day for a voter to appear in the office of the County Clerk to sign their provisional ballot affidavit envelope.
November 20 Friday Last day for the County Board of Canvassers to prepare official Abstract of Votes for the coordinated election. Election results are not official until this time.
