Motor Vehicle

The Larimer County Motor Vehicle Department is responsible for vehicle registration, titling and issuing license plates for Larimer County residents. Personal checks and cash are the only method of payment we accept. We currently do not accept credit cards. Also, a Colorado driver's license is required for all drivers who are residents of Colorado.

Renew Vehicle Registrations Online - Larimer County residents are now eligible to renew vehicle registrations online. The online Vehicle Registration Renewal application allows you to renew your eligible vehicle registration quickly and easily via the Internet, when it is most convenient for you. With the application, you can renew one or several vehicles in a single transaction using a credit card or electronic check. Additional fees apply.

Effective July 1, 2006, Secure and Verifiable Identification is required on all New Titles, Duplicate Titles, New Registrations, New Temporary Registration Permits and New Placards. The identification must be provided by the owner of record or a power of attorney presented by the agent. The agent must have Secure and Verifiable Identification to complete the transaction. Commercially owned or lien holder transactions require a letter of authorization.
