Update on Search for Missing Hiker in Crystal Mountain Area

Larimer County Sheriff's Office Emergency Services and the Larimer County Search and Rescue are continuing the search for JIMMY CARTER, the 76 year male from Dallas, Texas.  Mr. CARTER went on a short hike on Saturday morning, October 18th 2008 in the Crystal Mountain area and stated that he would return to the cabin around noon. When Mr. CARTER did not return by 6:00 P.M., his brother reported him missing.

Outside county Search and Rescue teams have been called to assist in the search today. Approximately thirty personel are expected to join Larimer County Search and Rescue teams with ATVs, search dog teams and tracking teams. The teams met for breifing this morning around 6:00 A.M.  Air support will be dependent on the weather conditions.

Updates will be sent when they are received by Larimer County Emergency Services.
