JIM (JIMMY) CARTER, the hiker missing since Saturday morning in the Crystal Mountain area, has been located and is OK. The Larimer County Sheriff's Office was notified around 12:15 P.M. by Larimer County Emergency Services that they were in contact with Mr. CARTER.

A man and his son from MInnesota were hunting in the Crystal Mountain area when they saw a subject matching Mr. CARTER'S description walking around in a wooded area. The man and his son were aware that a hiker was missing in this area so they approached him and asked if he was JIMMY CARTER. The subject said that he was not JIMMY CARTER. The man from MInnesota asked to see the subject's identification and it was determined that the subject was indeed Mr. CARTER.  The three hiked up to an area where cell service was available and called 911. Larimer County Emergency Services met with them and found Mr. CARTER  to be in good condition and thirsty. Mr. CARTER stated that he thought he had been hiking for two hours and did not realize that he had been gone for two days. JIM CARTER was reunited with his family.

Agencies participating in the seach today include; 17 members of the Larimer County Search and Rescue, 3 members of the Larimer County Sheriff's Office Emergency Services, 20 members of the Arapahoe County Search and Rescue, 4 members of the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group out of Boulder County, 2 members of the El Paso County Search and Rescue, 4 members of the Douglas County Search and Rescue, 3 members of the Front Range Rescue Dogs out of Boulder County, and 3 members of the Diamond Peaks Ski Patrol from Larimer County.

The Larimer County Sheriff's Office extends a sincere "thanks" to all who participated in the search.
