Wellington Arson Investigation

On Tuesday, February 14, 2017, at approximately 1830 hours, a deputy from the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a call in the 3600-block of Pierce Drive in Wellington. When the deputy arrived, he observed an orange glow through the window of a residence. When he investigated further, he could detect smoke and decided to make an emergency entry into the building.
The deputy located a fire in the kitchen area of the residence and smoke throughout. He searched for occupants but found none, and began to fight the fire with a hand-held extinguisher. The responding deputy, Deputy Kurt Solomon, has been with LCSO since 2015. Wellington Fire Department and Poudre Fire Authority responded to the scene and put the fire out.
Deputies investigated the incident and subsequently arrested Meghan Kee (DOB: 07/13/1985). Kee was transported to an area hospital for medical evaluation and later booked into the Larimer County Jail on allegations of:

The charges are merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until, and unless, proven guilty.
