On April 16, 2017, at approximately 5:45 p.m., Larimer County Jail deputies attempted to serve inmate Jeremy Allan Bonde (10/09/1979) a meal at his cell door in the jail’s maximum security unit. When the door was opened, Bonde exited his cell and got past the deputies. As deputies attempted to return him to his cell, Bonde became violently combative striking one deputy in both the thigh and groin area. Additional deputies responded to the area and Bonde continued to fight and refused multiple orders to stop resisting. A deputy deployed a Taser in order to gain control of Bonde. The deputy was not seriously injured.
Bonde was moved to a cell in the jail booking area for closer observation. As deputies were exiting the cell, Bonde tried to force his way out and prevented the cell door from closing. Deputies struggled with Bonde and deployed another Taser, but it was not successful. Bonde continued to ignore commands from deputies and OC spray was deployed. Bonde moved away from the door and was secured in the cell.
Deputies will seek to add a new allegation of 2nd Degree Assault (F4) for this incident. Bonde is currently being held on allegations of 2nd Degree Assault (F4), Fail to Comply Motor Vehicle Theft (F5), and Fail to Comply Arson (F4).
The charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until, and unless, proven guilty.
