The Larimer County Medical Examiner's Office conducted autopsies today on the two individuals who were found yesterday in the Poudre River and had died from two separate accidents.
Both families have notified.
The first gentleman was identified as Dennis M. SCHULTZ, age 63, from Hawaii. Schultz crashed his motorcycle into a guardrail in the Narrows, just west of mm 103 in the Poudre Canyon on 07/08/09, and has been missing in the river since.
The Cause of Death has been ruled: Blunt force chest and neck injuries due to motorcycle accident. The Manner of Death is Accident
The second victim of the Poudre was a 21 year-old male from Dillon, CO who was kayaking on the Big South branch near the Larimer-Jackson-Grand county lines. He has been identified as Derk J. SLOTTOW. Cause of Death has been ruled: Drowning. Manner of Death is Accident.
No other information will be released from our Office at this time.
