The Larimer County Department of Health and Environment announces that two more H1N1 vaccination clinics have been scheduled. The next clinics will be held on: Saturday, November 7, from 10 am to 8 pm at Lincoln School in Fort Collins; and on Sunday, November 8, from noon to 8 pm at Thompson Valley High School in Loveland.

Due to a very limited supply of vaccine, the priority groups for these clinics will be the same as the first clinic:
·         Pregnant Women
·         People who live with and/or are caregivers of infants under 6 months old
·         Children ages 6 months to 4 years
·         Children and adolescents from 5 - 18 years old who have medical conditions that put them at higher risk of complications from H1N1.
·         Health Care workers and emergency medical providers who have direct contact with patients
Clinics will open to other priority groups in future clinics when more vaccine is available.
Registration for these clinics only will open on Saturday morning, October 31, at 10 am. On-line registration will be available at www.larimerflu.org starting at 10 am and will be open until registration is full.    Telephone registration, at 970-670-6028, will be available to those without computer access from 10 am to 4 pm Saturday and 10 am to 4 pm Monday through Friday or until registration is full.
The Health Department stresses that on-line registration is the quickest way to register and encourages registrants to use the on-line service in order to reserve the telephone lines for registrants who don’t have computer access or need special assistance. The on-line system is only in English. Telephone registration is in English or Spanish.   Please do not have multiple people simultaneously trying to register the same family members for vaccinations; this just takes away slots from others and makes it difficult to manage the schedule.
“Because of the high number of people who may be calling in or signing on at the same time, please know that there may be technologic glitches, ” said Dr. Adrienne LeBailly, director of the health department. “We’re working very hard to address any registration issues as quickly as we can.” She also encourages computer users to “refresh” their web pages if the registration button does not show on the screen at 10 AM. No one will be able to register before 10 AM on Saturday.
“We are still getting far less vaccine than we’d anticipated and we don’t know when the supply will be large enough to offer to all who need or want the vaccine,” LeBailly said. “We open up clinics for registration only when we have enough vaccine, which we only know week-to-week.
“I understand that it’s very frustrating for Larimer County residents, but we will continue to do all that we can to offer the H1N1 immunizations just as soon as we can in the coming months.”
In the meantime, LeBailly adds, “Continue do all the things we’ve been talking about for a long time to take care of yourselves: stay home when sick, wash your hands, cover coughs and sneezes.”
