Larimer County Holds Public Hearings - Proposed 2010 Budget

The Board of Larimer County Commissioners will hold two televised public hearings on the Proposed 2010 Budget:
 
Monday, November 16, 2009 - 6:30 P.M. (Televised and Live Viewer Call-in)
Larimer County Courthouse Office Building, Commissioners Hearing Room-1st Floor, 200 West Oak Street, Fort Collins.
Televised on Fort Collins Cable Channel 14, LaPorte and Wellington Channel 45, Loveland & Berthoud Cable Channel 16. Viewers are able to call with their questions or comments by dialing 970-498-7016.
Note: Larimer County Solid Waste Department offers a public televised hearing on Proposed Fee Schedules for 2010 for the Landfill and Berthoud/Wellington/Red Feather Transfer Stations prior to the Commissioners’ Budget Hearing.
 
Thursday, November 19, 2009 - 6:30 P.M. (Televised, Estes Park Channel 12)
Estes Park Municipal Building, Town Board Chambers Room, 170 MacGregor Avenue, Estes Park. 
Note: Larimer County Solid Waste Department will offer a public televised hearing on the 2010 Proposed Fee Schedule for the Estes Park Transfer Station prior to the Commissioners’ Budget Hearing.

Other Opportunities:
  • Larimer County Manager Frank Lancaster and Budget Director Bob Keister have held numerous ‘brown- bag’ lunch meetings explaining the proposed budget to Larimer County employees.
  • The two are guests on ‘Community at Work’, from 5:30-6pm on KRFC, 88.9fm, Thursday, November 5th to discuss the budget.
  •  A one-half hour cable television show, titled ‘That Larimer County Show’ with Lancaster and Keister as well Assistant County Manager Neil Gluckman and Community Information Manager Deni La Rue begins airing on local cable channels: Fort Collins 14, LaPorte and Wellington Channel 45, Loveland & Berthoud Channel 16 by Monday, November 9th, 2009. 
  • That Larimer County Show will also air on the County’s YouTube site: www.youtube.com/larimercounty by November 9th. 
 
Larimer County’s Proposed 2010 Budget was released October 15, 2009. Overall, the 2010 Proposed Budget of $ 290,036,247 is a 1.8% reduction from the 2009 original Adopted Budget of $295,415,498.
Copies of the 2010 Proposed Budget are available at the Larimer County Budget Office, 200 West Oak Street, Fort Collins, Colorado, and from Budget Director Bob Keister at 970-498-7017. Copies are also available at local public libraries and online at www.larimer.org/budget/2010budget/. The Proposed 2010 Budget Adoption Hearing is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 17 at 2pm, 200 W. Oak St., Fort Collins.
