Purchasing
Mission Statement:
To provide centralized purchasing to County departments and facilitate a fair selection process for goods and services. Purchasing strives to utilize the taxpayers money in the most efficient manner by fostering competition. Purchasing also disposes of surplus equipment and property through sealed bid sales and a yearly auction.
Services Provided:
- develop policies that insure the integrity of county purchasing processes
- prepare and process formal bids and proposals for goods and services over $25,000
- process quotes for goods and services that fall between $5000-$25,000
- maintain vendor lists and price agreements
- participate in multi-jurisdictional purchasing cooperatives to obtain volume discount prices on goods and services
- provide purchasing software training for County staff
- maintain historical purchasing records in accordance with state regulations
- manage e-commerce program for ordering office supplies
- provide information and education to vendors about how to do business with Larimer County
- provide support for the annual surplus auction
- administer and monitor the county-wide Commercial Card Program
- process sealed bid sales for surplus equipment
