Moon Walk
In a world of artificial light, nighttime can seem mysterious, even dangerous! But to nocturnal animals, the night is when they're most comfortable! Join us to learn how nocturnal animals navigate in a world of darkness and get a little more comfortable with the night yourself.
We'll make our way to the Keyhole and back. Best for participants ages 8 years and older. Meet at the Devil's Backbone Open Space trailhead. Hike rating: moderate - 2.5 miles round-trip, trail has easy/moderate elevation gain and is rocky in places.
Please dress appropriately for the weather, wear appropriate footwear, and carry water. Program is free but registration is required. Purchase of a parking permit is also required.
Participants should bring:
Flashlight or headlamp with RED LIGHT option
Hiking shoes
Water
Insect repellant (optional)
Snacks (optional)
Clothing appropriate for the weather
Weather dependent
