Treasurer and Public Trustee

Delinquent property tax statements for the property tax year 2021 payable in 2022 will hit mailboxes this week.  Taxpayers that submitted a payment after July 8, 2022 might still receive a delinquent statement in the mail due to the printing and mailing process.

Larimer County Treasurer & Public Trustee Irene Josey reminds property owners who have not yet paid their taxes and did not submit a first-half payment began accruing delinquent interest as of May 3.  Property owners who submitted the first half payment but did not submit a second-half payment began accruing delinquent interest on June 16.  Interest accrues at a rate of one percent each month or part of a month that it is delinquent, in accordance with the Colorado Revised State Statutes. Please note that all funds received from mortgage companies have been processed and posted at this time.

The Larimer County Tax Lien Sale is scheduled for November 17, 2022.  All property taxes must be collected to meet the budgetary requirements of all certified taxing authorities.  The annual tax lien sale is held to collect these unpaid taxes.  The timely receipt of property taxes is essential to the effective delivery of services to you by our county health department, fire districts, cities, towns, and special districts as well as local law enforcement agencies. Property taxes and delinquent interest collected by the County Treasurer are distributed to these authorities.

For your convenience, there are several ways to make your payment. Property taxes can be paid online by credit card, debit card, or electronic check. There are no fees for electronic check payments. You may also mail payments to Larimer County Treasurer, P.O. Box 2336, Fort Collins, CO 80522 or drop them off in our secure 24-hour drop box at 200 W. Oak St., Fort Collins. To ensure proper credit, please reference your schedule number on your check and include your payment coupon. More information about these options can be found at https://www.larimer.org/treasurer/pay.
