Coroner's Office Thanks Dr. Wilkerson for Service and Leadership

Larimer County Coroner James A. Wilkerson IV, M.D., will resign tomorrow, September 2nd, 2022. Please see release for details.

Dr. Wilkerson has served our community with compassion and excellence for the last 14 years. He has upheld the standard of care that Dr. Patrick C. Allen instilled into our operational practices. As a Forensic Pathologist, Dr. Wilkerson has performed over 7,000 autopsies in his career and has been faithful in his service to the citizens of Larimer County. To Dr. Wilkerson and his family, the staff of the Coroner's Office says thank you for your service to our community. Thank you for carrying the solemn weight of duty that comes from speaking for those who cannot speak for themselves. There is no member of this staff that your knowledge and forensic instruction has not impacted.

Our office is excited to welcome Gary Darling as the interim Coroner, and we look forward to his leadership through this transitional time. Our staff will continue to seek the truth with dignity and respect under Gary's leadership.
