Clear an Outstanding Warrant and connect with community resources at Loveland event

Residents who have outstanding warrants on certain lower-level offenses will have the chance to clear their warrants and work towards case resolution at the Warrant Clearance and Community Resource Fair on Saturday, April 22 from 9:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. This event will be held at the Larimer County Loveland Campus at 200 Peridot Ave. in Loveland. No arrests will be made for those attending the event. 

In 2022, an estimated 120 warrants were cleared at the event. “Our goal is to re-engage people to get these cases resolved while connecting them to appropriate resources,” said District Attorney Gordon McLaughlin.  “If we can find appropriate accountability and provide restoration for the community on these cases, then people can get back on track in their lives without further draining limited criminal justice resources. The event benefits public safety and helps build a strong community at the same time.” 

The event is sponsored by the 8th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, the Office of the State Public Defender, the 8th Judicial District Judicial Branch and the Loveland Municipal Court. The Community Resource Fair is hosted by Larimer County Community Justice Alternatives. 

Offenses that are eligible for warrant clearance include some misdemeanor, traffic, and petty drug charges, Drug Felony 4 charges, Loveland Municipal Court charges, some Class 5 and Class 6 felonies, and Failure to Register charges. 

Ineligible offenses include any warrants outside of Larimer County, domestic violence misdemeanors and felonies, any cases under the Victim Rights Act, Careless Driving Causing Death or Injury charges, Possession of a Weapon by a Previous Offender charges, Felony Eluding, sex offenses except Failure to Register, and Class 1, 2, 3, and 4 Felonies, except Drug Felony 4. 

In addition to clearing warrants, attendees can connect with community resources for health, employment, and other assistance. Organizations in attendance include SummitStone Health Partners; Homeward Alliance; Loveland Workforce; the Larimer County Department of Health and Environment, the Department of Human Services, and the Veterans Service Office; DMV2Go; Alternatives to Violence; Disabled Resource Services, and more.
