New Larimer County Economic and Workforce Development Director on board

Larimer County Economic and Workforce Development [EWD] Interim Director Mark Johnston has been selected as the new Director of Larimer County Economic and Workforce Development.

Johnston has served as the Interim Director for that department since May 2023. In his new job, he brings over 22 years of experience as a workforce development leader to the new position.

He will head a multi-faceted department serving the public seeking employment opportunities, training, economic development, business development, and regional economic development and employment partnerships.

He also served as Larimer County Associate Director of EWD from 2021 to May 2023 and as Workforce Development Training Manager, in addition to serving in a variety of other roles in the department.

“I am excited to work with Mark as Larimer County Director of Economic and Workforce Development,” said Larimer County Assistant Manager Laurie Kadrich. “The response from colleagues and community partners about Mark has been overwhelmingly positive during Mark’s tenure as Interim Director. Many have expressed appreciation for his vision for the future.”

Johnston will report to Larimer County Dir. of Human and Economic Health Services Laura Walker.
